Pesarapappu Halwa in Telugu – Moong dal sheera by Tasty Vantalu

Learn how to easily prepare Rajasthani famous desert Moong dal Halwa or Moong dal sheera in Telugu.
We an call this Halwa as Pesara Pappu Halwa in Telugu.
Ingredients:
Moong Dal – 1 Cup
Ghee – 1 Cup
Sugar – 1 Cup
Milk – 1 Cup
Elachi – 5
Almonds – 10 -12
Cooking process:
– Wash Moong dal and soak in water for at least 4 hours.
– Drain the water and blend dal into a thick paste without adding any water
– In a non-stick or heavy bottom frying pan add moong dal paste and melted butter. Mix well.
– Turn on the stove to medium heat and fully cook dal paste until it turns little brown in color. This will take approximately 15 minutes, and will have a sweet, mild aroma when it is cooked.
– Lower the heat to medium-low. Add sugar allow it to melt by mixing it continously.
– Once sugar is slightly melted, add milk and mix it well.
– After halwa became thick paste add Elcahi powder and give it a mix.
– Add one cup of water and cook it for about 3 – 4 minutes in low flame by covering the pan.
– After 3 minutes add Sliced Almonds into it and give it a mix.
That’s it our Moong dal halwa is ready to serve.
