INGREDIENTS
1. Mochakottai-100g
2.drumstick-1
3.brinjal-2
4.small onion-10
5.garlic-6
6. Chilli powder-1and1/2tsp
7.turmeric powder-1/2tsp
8.sambhar podi-2tsp
9. Coconut-half
10.tamarind-gooseberry size
11. Tomato-1/2
FOR TEMPERING
1.oil-2tsp
2.mustard seed-1/2tsp
3.fenugreek seed-1/2tsp
4.curry leaves
5.coriander leaves
6.asafoetida-2tsp
GRINDED
Grind the coconut,chilli powder, turmeric powder,sambhar podi to a fine paste with little water
Get ready
1. Soak mochakottai overnight
2. Take a pressure cooker,put the mochakottai add water(2cups),cook for 6 to 7 whistles
3.soak tamarind in warm water for 10 min
4.cut the drumstick and brinjal
METHOD
1.Take a kadai put the oil and when it is hot add mustard, fenugreek,asafoetida let it splutter ( otherwise add vadagam)then add curry leaves ,small onion,garlic,fry for few minutes
2.Add the drum stick ,brinjal ,add required salt , fry for few minutes add tomato let it get cooked,add water(1 and1/2cups)
3.Add tamarind ,add grind coconut chilli turmeric sambar podi paste mixed and stir well
4.Add mochakottai(Lima beans)cook for 5min
5. When the dish is ready garnish with coriander leaves
6.Now muchakottai puli kulambu is ready and serve with hot rice,idly, dosa,upma
