Ingredients

Chana Dal (Split Bengal gram)
Water
Salt
Turmeric Powder
Green Chilli
Ginger Garlic Paste
Lauki (bottle gourd)
Oil
Cumin Seeds
Onion
Tomatoes
Red Chilli Powder
Coriander Leaves
Coriander Powder
Cumin Seed Powder
Garam Masala

Method

– In a pressure cooker, add washed chana dal along with water, salt, turmeric powder, green chili and ginger garlic paste. Mix them well.
– Add lauki to the dal and allow it to cook for 2 to 3 whistle.
– In another pan, make the tampering.
– Heat some oil in a pan and add cumin seeds along with onions and ginger garlic paste and cook them well.
– Add tomatoes along with salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and mix well.
– Add water so as to cook the tomatoes.
– Before adding the masala in the dal, add coriander to the mixture and mix well.
– Give another whistle post mixing the tampering.
– Once done, add Coriander Powder, Cumin Seed Powder and Garam Masala to the dal.
– Healthy and delicious chana dal with lauki is ready to be served.
