Doodhi na muthiya is a Gujarati recipe made of gram flour, sugar, salt, red chili powder and bottle gourd. This snack recipe is first steamed and then fried. Do give it a try and share your feedback in the comments below.
Ingredients:
1 Bottle Gourd, peeled&grated
3-4 tbsp Gram flour
2 cups Wheat Flour
1 tbsp Ginger-chilli paste
1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
1/2 tsp Red Chilli powder
Sugar
Salt to taste
2 tbsp White sesame seeds
1 tbsp Sugar
3-4 tbsp Oil
For Tempering
3-4 tbsp Oil
Mustard seeds
5-6 Curry leaves
Method of preparation:
In a bowl add bottle gourd, wheat flour, gram flour, ginger-chilli paste, salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, sesame seeds and mix well.
Add sugar, oil, mix well and make it into a dough.
Preheat the steamer.
Grease the tin, make cylindrical shape from the mixture and keep it inside the steamer.
Steam the muthiya’s for 15-20 minutes.
Let the muthiya’s cool down and then make small pieces of it.
Heat oil in a vessel, add mustard seeds, curry leaves, muthiya’s and cook them for 5-6 minutes till they turn crispy.
Our Doodhi Muthiya is ready, garnish it with sesame seeds, grated coconut and coriander leaves.
