Cooking Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients of Cholar Dal Recipe:
1. Chana dal / Cholar dal / Bengal Gram dal (200gm, soaked in water for 4-5 hours).
2. Chopped coconut
3. Cashew nut
4. Raisins
5. Ginger paste
6. Turmeric powder ( ½ tsp).
7. Cumin powder ( ½ tsp).
8. Garam masala powder.
9. Bay leaf
10. Dry chilli.
11. Garam masala
12. Sugar
13. Salt
14. Refined oil.
Methods of How to cook Cholar Dal:
1. Soaked the Cholar dal or Bengal Gram Dal for 4 to 5 hours.
2. Boil the dal by using pressure cooker. (Two whistle).
3. Add 1tbsp oil in hot pan. Fry the chopped coconut. Keep aside.
4. Add another 2 tbsp oil in pan.
5. Add garam masala, 1 bay leaf, dry chilli, ¼ tsp cumin seeds. Fry for 30 sec.
6. Add 1 tsp ginger paste, ½ tsp turmeric powder, ½ tsp cumin powder. Mixed it well.
7. Add cashew nut, raisins. Mixed it well.
8. Add fried coconut. Mixed it well.
9. Add boiled dal. Mixed it well.
10. Add ½ tsp salt, 1 tsp sugar. Mixed it well. Cook for 5 min in high flame.
11. After 5 min check the sugar and salt. Add more as per your taste.
12. Add ½ tsp garam masala powder, then close the lid and cook for 2 min in low flame.
13. Now cholar dal is ready. Serve hot with luchi, paratha,or roti.
