Chicken Biryani – Popular Bengali Style Easy Chicken Biriyani Recipe

Ingredients of Chicken Biryani Recipe:
1. Chicken (600 gm).
2. Basmati rice (500 gm).
3. Onion paste (2 medium sizes).
4. Onion (fried) (2 medium sizes).
5. Ginger garlic paste (4 tsp).
6. Cumin powder (1tsp).
7. Coriander powder (1 tsp).
8. Turmeric powder (½ tsp).
9. Red chilli powder (2 tsp).
10. Shahi jeera ( ½ tsp)
11. Bay leaves (5-6 )
12. Garam masala (including jaiphal and javitri)
13. Garam massala powder (3 tsp).
14. Plain yogurt (250 gm).
15. Salt (as per your taste).
16. Refined oil (7 tbsp).
17. Saffron (2 pinches).
18. Milk (3 tbsp).
19. Ghee (3 tbsp).
20. Rose water (1 tbsp).
21. Keora water (1 tbsp).
22. Sweet atar (½ tsp).
23. Black peeper powder (1 tsp).
24. Potatoes (2 medium sizes)
25. 1 boiled egg.
Methods of How to Prepare Chicken Biryani:
1. First marinate the chicken with 250gm plain yogurt, 1 tsp cumin powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, 2 tsp red chilli powder, ½ tsp turmeric powder, 4 tsp ginger garlic paste, ½ tsp salt and 5 tbsp oil. Mixed it very well. Keep it for minimum 6 hours or overnight in freeze.
2. Soak the Basmati rice in water for 1 hour before cooking.
3. Heat water in a pan for making rice. When boiling add 2 tbsp oil, 3-4 bay leaves, ¼ tsp shahi jeera.
4. Add rice. When rice get 50% boiled add 1 tsp salt. Mixed it well.
5. Add 2 tsp garam masala powder in marinated chicken. Mixed it well.
6. Heat the biryani hundi and add 2 tbsp oil and 1 tbsp ghee.
7. Add garam masala and bay leaves.
8. Add onion paste and fry it well. Cook in medium flame.
9. Add marinated chicken and potatoes in it. Cook in medium flame for 5 min.
10. Strained the rice and add in biryani hundi.
11. Now put off gas oven.
12. Now add 2 fried onion, ½ tsp garam masala powder, ½ tsp black peeper powder, 1tbsp rose water, 1 tbsp keora water.
13. Add saffron in 3 tbsp milk and add in biriyani hundi.
14. Add ¼ tsp sweet atar.
15. Add 2 tbsp ghee.
16. Seal the biryani hundi cover with atta dough.
17. Heat a tawa. Put the biryani hundi on the top of tawa.
18. Now cook it in high flame for 5 min.
19. After 5 min cook in low flame for 15 to 20 min.
20. Put off gas oven. After 5 min open the lid.
21. Serve hot chicken biryani with boiled egg.
