Aloo Posto – Authentic Bengali Recipe Potato With Poppy Seeds Paste – Bengali Aloo Posto Recipe

Ingredients of Aloo Posto Recipe:
1. Aloo / Potatoes (2 medium sizes).
2. Chopped onion (2 medium sizes).
3. Black cumin seeds (¼ tsp).
4. 1 dry red chilli.
5. 2 green chilli.
6. Posto bata / Poppy seeds paste (3 tbsp).
7. Turmeric powder (¼ tsp).
8. Red chilli powder (¼ tsp).
9. Salt (as per your taste).
10. Mustard oil.

Methods of How to Prepare Aloo Posto:
1. Heat the pan and add 3 tbsp mustard oil in it.
2. Add ¼ tsp black cumin seeds, and 1 dry red chilli.
3. Add potatoes, ¼ tsp turmeric powder and ¼ tsp salt. Mixed it well.
4. Fry the potatoes very well in high flame.
5. Add chopped onions and fry again in high flame.
6. Add 3 tbsp Posto Bata (Poppy seeds paste) and ¼ tsp red chilli powder. Mixed it well.
7. Add 2 green chilli and 1.5 cups water.
8. When boiling cover the lid in medium flame for 10 min.
9. After 10 min taste it.
10. Now cook in high flame for 2 min.
11. Put off your gas oven.
12. Serve hot Aloo Posto with hot steamed rice, roti, and paratha.
