How to make Sweet Pumpkin peel chutney recipe/Sauce/Pickle/Indian Relish/Pachhadi/

Description :

Tasty and healthy pumpkin peel chutney
Sweet pumpkin peel chutney

Ingredients
Sweet pumpkin peel : 1 cup (cleaned)
Mustard :1/2 tsp
Salt to taste :about 1 tsp
Asafetida :less than ¼ tsp
Turmeric powder :1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds (jeera) : 1 tsp
Bengal gram dal: 1 tsp
Dry red chillies : 2
Urud dal/blackgram: 1 tsp
Green chilies :2
Fenugreek seeds:less than ¼ tsp
Tamarind : a small lemon size
Jaggery : a small piece
Oil : 2 tbsp

Procedure:
Take a kadai and heat it up. Add oil and heat it up. Add mustard, asafetida and turmeric, allow the mustard to crackle. Add Bengal gram dal, urud dal, cumin seeds, fenugreek, green chilies, red chilies and sauté this till the dals turn their color to golden brown, Now add tamarind and pumpkin peel, sauté this till the pumpkin peel becomes soft. To this add salt and jaggery and mix it well. Close the lid and simmer it for 5 mins so that it gets cooked very softly. Allow it to cool and transfer it to a mixer jar and grind it to a smoot paste. Tasty and spicy pumpkin peel chutney is ready. Serve it hot with rice.
