Gojjavalakki / Gojju avalakki Recipe/Huli avalakki /Poha /Puliyogare poha

Description :

Gojju /Avalakkii ia an authentic Karnataka style breakfast recipe
Gojju Avalakki
Ingredients
Avalakki/Flatenned rice/Poha : 3 cups
Tamarind : a small lemon size
Water : 2 cups
Bengal gram dal: 1 tsp
Urud dal/blackgram: 1 tsp
Ground nuts : ½ cup
Jaggery : ½ cup

Salt to taste
Mustard :1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder :1/4 tsp
Oil : 2 tbsp
Green chilies :2
Curry leaves :10-12
Coriander leaves : handful
Asafetida : 2 pinches
Procedure:
Take a mixer jar, add poha and grind to a coarse powder. Squeeze the tamarind juice. To this add Jaggery and dissolve it completely. Now add salt, gojju powder and mix well. Pour this mixture on the powdered poha and mix well without lumps. Rest this aside for about 15 minutes so that the poha absorbs all the water and becomes soft.
Take a pan, add oil and heat it up. Add mustard and crackle it. Add asafetida, turmeric, Bengal gram dal, black gram dal and ground nuts and sauté for a while till ground nuts get roasted completely.
Now green chilies and curry leaves and mix well. To this add poha mixture and mix well. Sprinkle coriander leaves and serve it hot.
