Most of the food here are made keeping the Indian Palette in consideration to keep the recipe as authentic as possible, although these food may be what any SouthAsian may relish .It’s important to keep in mind the spices used must be taken into account by the viewer and cook according to there threshold, preference and health conditions.
With that out of the way, today we will see how to prepare
Cabbage samabr/Cabbage huli
Ingredients:
Cabbage : 1 kg (finely chopped)
Toor dal : 1 cup
turmeric powder : 1/2 tsp
Tomatoes : 3
water : 2 cups
tamarind : a small lemon size
Oil : 2 tsp
mustard : 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida : 1/2 tsp
curry leaves : handful
salt to taste

Ghee : 1tsp
Procedure:
Finely chop cabbage and soak in tamarind water for 10 mins and then soak in turmeric water for 30 mins.
Take a pressure cooker and to it add toor dal,turmeric,finely chopped tomatoes water and pressure cook for 3 whistles.
In the mean time exteact the tamarind juice and keep aside.
Take a kadai,add oil and let the oil get heated up.To this add mustard,asafoetida and curry leaves and saute for a while.
Now add the extracted tamarind juice and add samabar powder and mix well without forming lumps.Add little water about half a cup and bring it to a boil.
To this add the cooked vegtable and dal and mix well.Add salt and simmer for 5 mins and serve it
