Most of the food here are made keeping the Indian Palette in consideration to keep the recipe as authentic as possible, although these foods may be what any South Asian may relish. It’s important to keep in mind the spices used must be taken into account by the viewer and cook according to their threshold, preference and health conditions.

With that out of the way, today we will see how to prepare
Bhindi fry/Okra

Ingredients:
Bhindi : 500 gms
Oil : 2 tbsp
Mustard : 1 tsp
Bengal gram dal :2 tsp
Curry leaves : 10 -15
Turmeric: ½ tsp
Tamarind: a small lemon size washed and soaked
Salt to taste
Fried gram : 1 cup
Red chillies : 10-12
Dried coconut grated : 1 cup
Procedure:
Wash okra and wipe them completely and cut into small pieces. Extract tamarind juice and keep aside. Take a thick bottom pan and heat it up. Add oil and heat it up, now add mustard and allow it to crackle. Add bengal gram dal, curry leaves and turmeric and saute till the bengal gram dal turn golden brown. Now add cut bhindi and saute well. To this add the extracted tamarind juice and cook till the okra is cooked soft. In the mean time, take a mixer jar and add fried gram, grated coconut and red chillies and grind to a fine powder. Check if the bhindi is cooked soft. To the cooked bhindi, add salt and grounded powder and mix well. Close the lid and simmer for 5 mins so that the raw smell of the powder is gone.
Serve it hot with rice or chapati.
