10 piece King Fish
2 tbsp coconut oil
Salt to taste
Some curry leaves
5-6 shallots (sliced)
¼ tsp fenugreek seeds
3-4 pot tamarind
Ingredients for grinding:
3 tbsp kashmiri red chilli powder
Small piece ginger
5 shallots
(grind the above ingredients in a ¼ cup of water)
1 cup boiled water
Cooking method:
• When the pot becomes hot, add 2 tbsp of coconut oil,
• Put fenugreek seeds, shallots in the boiled oil and stir well in a medium flame.
• Add some curry leaves
• When it become golden brown, add the grinded masala paste and stir again till it looses the raw smell.
• Then add 1 cup of boiled water and stir well in a high flame and add salt to taste.
• Add the pot tamarind and fish pieces in the mixture.
• Swirl it well don’t use the spoon
• Close the lid and cook for 5 minutes.
• Open the lid after 5 minutes and swirl it again
• Boil again for 2 -3 minutes (without lid) and turn off the stove.
• Now the “Fish Pattichatthu” is ready to serve.
