With Nestlé Milkmaid and some ingredients I enhance the flavour and texture of this traditional dessert. Everyone here loved it. Even by little baby Sana. Fruits Sago Payasam
Cooking time: 15-20 minutes
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
1/2 cup sago
1.5 cup water
2 cups milk
2 tbsp milk powder
1 tin milkmaid
1 tsp vanilla essence
2 tbsp cornflour with 4 tbsp milk
1/4 cup chopped apple
1/4 cup chopped banana
1/4 cup chopped mango (optional)
2 tbsp chopped dates
2 tbsp chopped cashew
2 tbsp chopped almonds
3 tbsp butter
1/2 tsp cardamom powder
1. Add 1/2 cup Sago to 1.5 cup boiling water and cook well.
2. Simultaneously, On a thick bottomed pan boil 2 cups of milk and 2 tbsp milk powder
3. As it heats up add half tin of milkmaid and 1 tsp vanilla essence and stir well
4. Meanwhile in another bowl mix 2 tbsp corn flour with 4 tbsp milk
5. Once milk boils, add the mix to it and stir well continuously to avoid lumps. In case the milk consistency becomes too thick, add boiling milk as required
6. Add the cooked Sago along with water to the boiled milk mix
7. Mix well and let it cool
8. Chop apple, banana, mango (seasonal), dates into small pieces
9. Sauté the chopped fruits in 3 tbsp butter.
10. Add 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
11. Also chop cashew nuts and almonds
12. Add the sautéed fruits and nuts to the milk mixture and mix well.
13. This is a semi liquid dessert with a thick consistency. Can be served hot and cold.
