Kapyache Ghavan is a traditional Maharashtrian delicacy, often prepared during festivals in Konkan region of Maharashtra. It is prepared as a “naivadya” made with rice flour and Coconut-Jaggery mixture. It is a very similar recipe to Ukadiche Modak and Paatoli where outer layer is made from steamed rice flour and inner stuffing mixture is made from Coconut-Jaggery.

कोकणात सणासुदीला कप्याचे घावन करतात, त्याचा बाहेरचा थर वाफवलेल्या तांदळाच्या पिठापासून बनवला जातो आणि आतील स्टफिंग नारळ-गुळापासून बनवले जाते. हे खीर किंवा दुधासोबत खातात.

Jaggery is known to activate the digestive enzymes of the body that helps stimulate your bowel movement and relieve constipation.

पोटाच्या समस्यांसाठी गूळ खूप फायदेशीर ठरतो. जेवणानंतर थोडासा गूळ खाल्ल्याने पोटात गॅस तयार होत नाही. याशिवाय अपचन आणि बद्धकोष्ठतेच्या समस्येपासूनही सुटका होते.

1 cup Modak Flour
Water (as required)
Salt (as per taste)
½ cup Jaggery
1 cup Fresh Coconut (grated)
1 tbsp Poppy Seeds
1 tbsp Dry Fruit Powder
Nutmeg (grated)
1 tsp Green Cardamom Powder
Oil (for greasing)
Water (for sprinkling)
Oil (as required)
