Kheer is a very common sweet in Maharashtrian homes. Different types of Kheer are made on both auspicious as well as non-auspicious occasions. Gavhale (also known as Valvat) means hand made pasta. Kheer from Gavhale is made during auspicious and festive occasions. This Kheer is also offered to goddess Gauri as Naivedya.
गव्हले खीर हा गव्हले वापरून बनवलेला एक पारंपारिक महाराष्ट्रीयन गोड पदार्थ आहे. गव्हले याला वल्वाट म्हणजे हाताने बनवलेला पास्ता असेही म्हणतात आणि ते बारीक रवा, मध्यम रवा आणि संपूर्ण गव्हाचे पीठ वापरून बनवले जातात. ही खीर सामान्यतः महाराष्ट्रीयन घरांमध्ये शुभ प्रसंगी आणि सणांच्या वेळी बनवली जाते.

Semolina Dough
Semolina + Milk + Salt
¼ cup Sago (soaked)
¼ cup Gavhale
2-3 tbsp Red Pumpkin (chopped & boiled)
2-3 tbsp Purple Yam (chopped & boiled)
2-3 tbsp Sweet Potatoes (chopped & boiled)
2 tbsp Jaggery (chopped)
¼ tsp Ghee
a pinch of Green Cardamom Powder
