in this dhokla recipe I have shown the process of how to make soft & spongy dhokla.this is a besan Dhokla and is also known as Khaman Dhokla. in this recipe I have shown step by step process of making dhokla at home. we may make it without oven or with the pressure cooker that we are having at our home pressure cooker is always available vessel with all our homes.Dhokla is a perfect snack item and we may use it as a good breakfast too.actually dhokla recipe is a North Indian style dish but we may use in South India also , it tastes good with green chutney or with any kind of sickness that we use at our home.Even though it was being prepared with besan flour we cannot face any digestion problem because of use of fruit salt popularly known as eno which is used for the purpose of digestion problems.

Required ingredients

gram flour besan-100gm
Green Chili and ginger paste-1tsp
semolina (Sooji)-2tsp
salt to taste
Turmerica powder -1/2tsp
sugar-2tsp
fruit salt (Eno un flavour )-1/2tsp
lemon juice-2sp
cooking oil-2tsp
water-1/2litter

pop ingredients

green chillie splits-4
curry leaves
mustard seeds-1tsp
sugar-1tsp (optional)
chopped coriander leaves
cooking oil-2tsp
asafoetida ( inguva)-1pinch

preparation

1. Take a bowl at besan flour and semolina and sugar mix it well.
2. add a little water at a time,mix it well
3. make a semi thick batter ,do not make the better thick
4. add lemon juice & mix it.
5. cover it and leave it for 10 minutes.
6. grease a deep bowl (or) cake tin with oil & keep it aside.
7. Turn on the flame and put a pressure cooker on it.add 1/2 litre of water
8. put a stand / bowl inside the cooker.
9. close the lid without whistle.let the water come to boil.
10. after 10 minute stir the better onee.
11. add turmeric powder and salt and Ginger green chilli paste mix it well.
12. add 1tsp oil and mix it again.
13. add fruit salt eno and add 1 tsp of water on fruit salt.
14. mix it for 10 seconds only
15. immediately pour the batter into the greased bowl / cake tin.
16. tap tha tin to level it properly .
17. open the lid and place the better tin inside the cooker.
18. close the lid without whistle cook it for 15 minutes on medium flame.
19. do not open the lid in between.
20. after 15 minutes open the lid and check the Dhokla with spoon and knife.
let it cool down.

preparation of pop

1. turn on the flame,heat a pan & add oil, once oil is heat reduce the flame too low
2. add mustard seed ,green chillies, and curry leaves.
3. fry it few secones.
4. add 1tsp of sugar its optional.
5. the Pope is the ready turn of the film.

21. cut the edges of Dhokla with a spoon/knife
22. place one plate on top flip the cake tin dhokla is ready.
23. pour the pop on top.
24.add chopped coriander leaves on top.
25. cut it into pieces.
26. spongy and fluffy besan Dhokla is ready to serve.
27. serve it with green chutney and red chutney.
28. North Indian style instant besan Dhokla & Khaman Dhokla recipe is ready.
