Ingredients:
– 1 cup basmati rice

– 1/2 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, beans, etc.)
– 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
– 1 teaspoon garam masala
– 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
– 4-5 whole cloves
– 2-3 green cardamom pods
– 1 bay leaf
– 1 cinnamon stick
– 2-3 tablespoons oil or ghee
– Salt to taste
– Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing

Instructions:
1. Wash the rice in cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for about 30 minutes, then drain.

2. Heat oil or ghee in a large pot or pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds, cloves, cardamom pods, bay leaf, and cinnamon stick. Sauté for a minute until fragrant.

3. Add the sliced onions and sauté until they turn golden brown.
