Gulab Jamun! The South Asian sweet, originating from Indian subcontinent. It is made from Milk solids. Traditionally it is made from Khoya (Mawa), which is Milk reduced to the consistency of soft dough. Now days we make the Gulab Jamuns from Khoya or powdered Milk. Today here we are sharing the recipe of instant and easy way to make Gulab Jamun using Bread. These Bread Gulab Jamuns are juicy and taste same like our regular Khoya Gulab Jamuns but bit hard compared to our regular Gulab Jamuns.

Bread Gulab Jamuns are made using fresh Bread. The fresh Breads are taken by removing the sides of Bread from all the sides and then grinding into fine powder. This fine powder is then kneaded like a soft dough using fresh cream (Malai) or Whole Milk. Then small round balls are made out of this dough and then it is deep-fried in hot Oil or Ghee. Then fried Gulab Jamuns are then dipped into Sugar Syrup to become soft and juicy. Bread Gulab Jamuns are then garnished with dry fruits before serving.

Ingredients :

White Bread Slices – 8 nos
Fresh Cream / Malai or Milk – ¼ cup (approx. 4 to 5 tsp)
Sugar – 1 cup
Water – 1 cup (Sugar : Water ratio 1 : 1)
Cardamom Powder / Elaichi – ¼ tsp
Lemon Juice – 2 to 3 drops
Oil or Clarified Butter / Ghee for deep fry – as required
Dry Fruits for garnishing – as required
