INGREDIENTS:
lauki/bottle gourd: 1/2 (medium)
moong dal: 1/2 cup
water: to soak the dal, soak for 15 mins

to cook dal:
turmeric : 1/2 tsp
tomato: 1, sliced
water: 1 to 1 1/2 cups, just enough to cover the dal
salt: 1 tsp
Pressure cook with lauki on high for 1 whistle and then on low flame for 5-7 mins

Tadka:
Green chilies: 2, chopped
garlic, 3, chopped
ginger: 1/2 inch, chopped
shallots: 4, chopped
coriander leaves: chopped, 2 tbsp

desi ghee: 1 tsp
jeera/cumin seeds: 1/2 tsp
mustard seeds: 1/2 tsp
kayam: 1/4 tsp
whole red chilies: 3, broken
curry leaves: 1 sprig
extra water if needed
