Roasted peanuts | Kappalandi varuthathu
Description :
Ingredients:
Peanuts – 2 cups (Unroasted)
Salt
Water
Steps:
Heat a heavy bottomed pan or cheenachatty. Do not use non-stick pan.
Add 1 glass of sand. Heat the sand well.
Add peanuts, once the sand is hot.
When the peanuts are half done, sprinkle salt water.
(You can taste it and check)
Keep stirring till it is finely roasted.
When rubbed between the fingers, if you are able to remove the skin, the peanuts are well done.
Switch off and remove peanuts from the sand.
Enjoy the roasted peanuts.

അതിനു ശേഷം ഒരു ജോണി വാക്കര്‍ പൊട്ടിച്ചു ഒരു ഗ്ലാസ്സില്‍ അല്‍പ്പം ഒഴിച്ചു ആവശ്യത്തിനു വെള്ളവും ചേര്‍ത്തു ,മേല്‍പ്പറഞ്ഞ റെസ്സിപ്പിയുടെ കൂടെ സേവിച്ചു നോക്കൂ……
കര്‍ക്കിടക മാസത്തിലെ മരുന്നു കഞ്ഞി പോലും ഇതിനൊപ്പം വരില്ല…. 🙂 🙂

it's a lovely recipe! very nostalgic. .. but in INDIA we cannot use the sand as you know how unhygienic it is !
