Naadan Chakka Kuru Manga Curry

Description :

Ingredients:
Seeds of jackfruit – 200g (Split into 4)
Raw mango – 1
Grated coconut – 5 handfuls / ½ of a coconut
Cashew nut – 3 (Optional)
Onion – 1 small (Thinly sliced)
Green chilly
Ginger – 1 piece (Crushed)
Turmeric powder – ½ tbsp
Chilli powder – 1½ tbsp
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Dry red chilly
Shallots
Curry leaves
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Red chilly powder – ¼ tsp
Coconut oil
Salt

Steps:
Add green chillies, onion, ginger, jackfruit seeds, turmeric powder, chilli powder, water and salt to a claypot. Cook covered stirring in between.

Grind coconut and cashew nuts to a fine paste by adding enough water.

Once jackfruit seeds are cooked, add mango, coconut paste and water for gravy.
Bring it to a boil and cook covered for 5 minutes.
Once mango is cooked and gravy thickens, switch off.

Heat oil in a pan for tempering.
Add mustard seeds and let it splutter.
Add dry chillies, chopped shallots and curry leaves.
Add turmeric powder and roast on low flame.
Add chilly powder and roast on low flame.
Switch off and add this to the curry.
Leave it covered for a minute.
Serve the curry with hot rice.
