Koonthal ularthiyathu–Squid Roast

Description :

Ingredients

Squid – 700 gms.
Garlic crushed – 6 nos.
Ginger crushed – 1 nos.
Onion – 1 nos.
Turmeric powder – ¼ tbsp.
Coriander powder – ½ tbsp.
Chilli powder – as needed.
Tomato – ½ nos.
Curry leaves – as needed.
Green chilli – as needed.
Garam masala – ¼ tbsp.
Pepper powder – 3 pinch.

Method

Heat oil in a pan. Add onion, garlic, ginger, curry leaves, green chilli. Saute for a couple of minutes.

Turn heat to low. Add turmeric powder, saute for a couple of minutes.

Add coriander powder, stir till fried.

Add chilli powder, saute for a couple of minutes.

Add Tomato and salt. Mix well.Turn heat to low. Cover and cook the tomatoes.

Add squid and salt. Turn heat to medium. Add pepper powder and garam masala. Mix well. cover and cook. Make sure not to overcook, as the squid becomes rubbery if over cooked. If the squid has more water turn heat to high and boil till the water is evaporated.

Switch off flame, move to a serving dish and Enjoy!!
