Description :
Ingredients:
Urad dal – 2 cups (Soaked in water for half an hour)
Sugar – 2 cups
White rose essence – ½ tbsp or for your taste
Food colour – A pinch
A ziplock cover
Steps:
Grind soaked and drained urad dal in small batches to a smooth paste without adding water.
After grinding, the batter has to be used immediately.
Add sugar to half cup water and stir well.
Turn on the stove and cook stirring till the solution becomes sticky when felt between your fingers.
Add food colour and switch off.
Add white rose essence and mix well.
Transfer it to a small deep bowl and set aside.
To shape the jalebi, use a ziplock bag or icing bag or piping bag. If you are using the ziplock bag, make a small hole in a corner.
Transfer some batter to the bag.
Heat oil in a pan.
Squeeze the bag and press out spirals of batter into the hot oil.
Cook on medium flame.
When one side is cooked, flip and fry the other side.
Remove from oil and drop them in sugar syrup.
Make sure they get soaked by pressing it with the ladle.
Remove after some time.
Enjoy the jalebis.
