Hi everyone, today I am here with a simple cake roll recipe which will take very less cooking time and very simple ingredients.

To prepare the simple cake batter, break and egg into a large mixing bowl and add 4 tablespoons of oil of your choice, and 5 tablespoons of powdered sugar and whisk everything really well until well combined. You can also substitute oil with butter or ghee.

After these three ingredients are combined, add 1 ½ cup of plain flour, ¼ teaspoon of salt, 1 ½ teaspoon of baking powder and 1 ½ cup of milk and mix everything really well.

You can use raw milk or boiled milk, chilled milk or room temperature milk..

After everything is mixed, split the batter into two different bowls and add 2 tablespoons of instant coffee in one of the bowls and mix really well so that you get a brown coloured batter and a bowl of white colour batter.. you can also add two drops of yellow food colouring into the white coloured batter, but it is completely optional..

Next, take a large pan and grease it with some oil or butter or ghee and start adding the batter onto the pan..

Start with the white coloured batter from the centre. Add one spoon of that batter in the centre of the pan and then add the brown coloured batter in the centre of the white coloured one and then repeat the process until you fill the entire pan or until you use up all the batter..

Once you have poured all the batter onto the pan, place the pan on the stove or a medium low heat and let it cook for around 10 to 12 minutes.. Since the burner is small and a pan size is large, you may move the pan a little and adjust the heat so that the heat reaches everywhere and the cake cooks evenly. . After around 10 minutes, touch the surface of the cake and see if it’s completely cooked.

Once it starts to set and cook, do not leave it on the stove for longer because if the bottom of the cake over cooks, we will not be able to roll the cake.

Once the cake is ready, run a spatula on the sides of the cake and then transfer the cake onto a butter paper placed on a cloth.. The cloth is kept under the butter paper to absorb all the moisture that will come from the cake because the cake will be still hot while we are transferring it onto the butter paper..

Now, let the cake cool down completely while preparing the cream to spread in the middle.

To prepare the cream, add 1 ½ cup of milk into a saucepan and add 5 tablespoons of milk powder, 2 tablespoons of cornflour and 3 tablespoons of sugar and whisk everything well and place the saucepan on the heat..

Keep whisking continuously until it starts to turn into a thick cream..

When the cream is formed, transfer it into another bowl and place it in the refrigerator so that the cream thickens up.

Once it’s cold and the cake has cooled, cut the edges of the cake to make it a little pretty and then flip the cake so that its bottom side is up.

Spread a generous layer of the prepared cream on the bottom side of the cake and start rolling the cake around itself with the help of the butter paper.. use the butter paper and take the butter paper along with the cake.. (do not roll the cake with the butter paper in between) The cake roll at this point will be rolled by butter paper.

After you have folded from one end to the other, place it in the freezer until it’s cold to touch.

Once it’s cold, take it out, cut it and serve!!

Alternatively, you can also prepare a cream using ½ cup of heavy whipping cream and 2 tablespoons of icing sugar/sugar and then beating it with a beater until it forms stiff peaks and then spread on the cake and roll it around itself..
