Green gram – ¼ cup
Chana dal – 2tbsp
Onion – ½ of a large
Ginger – 1 small piece
Garlic – 3 large cloves
Rice flour – 2 cups
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
Ajwain – ½ tsp
Chilly flakes – to taste
Black sesame seeds
Salt
Oil – 3 tbsp
Hi everyone, today I am here with an easy crispy snack recipe which you can prepare with simple ingredients which you have at home.
First, soak a quarter cup of green gram and two tablespoons of chana dal in water until they turn soft.
Make sure that the green gram is soaked and soft. It will take you around four hours.
Once the green gram a soft, transfer it into the jar of a mixer grinder along with the soak chana dal, a small piece of ginger, three big cloves of garlic and half of a large onion and grind it into a lump free smooth paste.
Once the paste is ready, transfer the paste into the a large mixing bowl and add 2 cups of roasted or unroasted rice flour into the bowl and then add a teaspoon of cumin seeds, half a teaspoon of ajwain, some chilli flakes to taste, some black sesame seeds, some salt to taste and 3 tablespoons of oil of your choice.
You can use measuring cups or normal drinking last measure all the ingredients for this recipe, but make sure to use the same glass to measure all the ingredients.
After adding the above mentioned ingredients, knead it into a Chapati like dough which doesn’t stick to the surface.
You may also add very little water, if needed, to bind it into a smooth dough.
Once the dough is ready, let it rest for about 10 minutes before frying.
After around 10 minutes, separate very small balls from the dough and place it on a thin plastic wrap in equally aligned rows and then place another plastic wrap on top of it, and with any flat surface, press it gently to form a thin and circular shape.
After you have a shit all you do is into thin circular shapes, deep fry them in oil, on a medium heat so that it can cook through completely and come out crispy.
You may heat up the oil to fry on a very high flame and then reduce the flame to medium and then you can fry the snack until crispy throughout.
On a medium flame, fry them until they are crispy and golden on all the sides and remove from the oil and serve!!
These can be stored in an airtight container for a long time as well..
