NO BAKE BREAD
1 cup = 250ml
Plain flour – 3 cup OR 400g
Lukewarm water – 200ml + 4 tbsp
Yeast – 1 ½ tsp
Salt – to taste
Sugar – 2 tbsp
Sunflower oil – 1 tbsp
To make this delicious and soft bread, in a large mixing bowl, mix together 3 cups of plain flour, 2 tablespoons of sugar and enough salt to taste.
If your sugar has large granules, gently crush or powder it before adding to the mixture.
Meanwhile, add 1 ½ teaspoon of yeast to 200 ML of lukewarm water and set aside.
After about five minutes, add the yeast solution into the flour mixture and mix really well..
Add only enough water to mix it into a soft dough, I have added four more tablespoons of extra water..
Do not add a lot of water at once and do not mix a lot of water with yeast at the initial stage.
The consistency of the batter should be a little loose and sticky.
I am going to add a tablespoon of sunflower oil to the dough, you can use any all of your choice.
No knead the dough and let it rest for around two hours (more or less depending on the weather condition) until it rises up into a soft dough.
The time taken for the dough to rise will depend on the quality of yeast and your weather conditions.
After the dough has risen, dust a surface with some flour and knead the dough again to make the dough even softer.
The method of keading should be as shown in the video, by pulling it and tucking it in from the sides
After you have knead the dough, take the pan in which you are going to bake the bread and grease it with some oil on all the sides
Carefully transfer the prepared dough into the pan and let it rest for one more hour in the pan
After one hour, gently press the door to fit the pen and feel free to dust the top of the dough is sticking to your hands.
Take care to not place the pan directly on the flame, so heat a Dosa pan or any other thick bottomed pan on the stove
After it heats up, reduce the flame to medium low flame and place the pan on top of it, with the lid closed
After about 40 minutes, open the lid and wipe off the excess vaporized water from the top of the lid
After about one hour, it will start to develop a slight golden colour from the bottom and the top will develop little wrinkles and will not stick to your hand when touched.
When the bread reaches this stage, flip and cook on the other side until it’s golden..
Cook cook for another 20 minutes after flipping it
Tilt the pan so that all the sides of the bread touches the pan, developing a golden colour
I am also going to grease some butter on top of the bread.
Cut and serve the bread only after it completely cools down..
I took around one and half hours to cook this completely..
