Rice flour – 5 tbsp
Corn flour – 2 tbsp
Potato – 500g
Ajwain/Ayamodakam – ¼ tsp (optional)
Fennel seeds – 2 pinches
Kalonji seeds / black sesame seeds – ½ tsp (optional)
Chilli flakes – to taste
Water – 1 glass

Salt – to taste

Oil 1 tbsp + to saute + to fry

Hi everyone, today I am here with an easy and very yummy evening snack recipe using potatoes and rice flour..

To prepare this yummy snack, boil 500g of potatoes and peel them and mash them while they are still warm so that they turn creamy, without any lumps.

Make sure to not dip the potatoes in water while steaming them, else the mixture will turn soggy.

Next, heat any oil of your choice in a pan on a low flame and add two pinches of fennel seeds, half a teaspoon of black sesame seeds or kalonji seeds, ¼ tsp of ajwain and some chilli flakes to taste.

Saute all the spices in the oil on a very low flame until the spices release its flavour in the oil and then add a glass of water to the pan and bring it to a boil.

When the water comes to a boil add some salt to taste and 5 tablespoons of rice flour and mix and combine it into a smooth paste without any lumps.

When the mixture starts to leave the pan as you can see in the video, turn off the flame and let it cool down a bit.

Once the mixture is cooled down, add it to the mashed potato and mix it really well with your hand and check for salt. You may add more salt if required after kneading it into a smooth dough.

Next add a tablespoon of oil and 2 tablespoons of corn flour into the prepared dough and then separate huge chunks from the dough and roll it into a smooth sausage like shape.

After rolling it out thinly, cut it into your desired shape or into the shape as you can see in the video and deep fry these in oil until they turn crispy and golden on all the sides.

Fry this on a medium flame so that they cook through completely.

Once they are crispy and golden, take them out from the oil and they are ready to be served
