Description :

Milk – ½ cup
Yeast – 7g / 1 tsp
Butter – 4 tbsp
Egg – 1
Powdered sugar – 4-5 tbsp
Salt – ½ tsp
Cinnamon powder – ¼ tsp
Maida – 2 cups

For glazing
Butter – 4 tbsp
Powdered sugar
Milk – 1 tbsp

Hi everyone, today I am here with an easy doughnut recipe which you can make easily at home..

For the first step, add half a cup of milk to a saucepan and heat it up until the milk is just lukewarm.
Transfer the lukewarm milk into a cup and add 7 g or 1 teaspoon of instant yeast and mix it really well using a whisk.. next, add 4 tablespoons of powdered sugar, an egg, 4 tablespoons of salted or unsalted butter, half a teaspoon of salt and a quarter teaspoon of cinnamon powder for flavour and mix all these ingredients really well in the mug and set aside..

Next, add 2 cups of plain flour into a mixing bowl and add the prepared mixture from the mug completely into the bowl and mix it with your hands to make a smooth dough.. this dough shouldn’t be too thick, it should be in the consistency which sticks to your hands.
You may add a tablespoon or two of extra flour to adjust the smoothness and consistency of the dough.

Once the dough is ready, knead it really soft and let it rest for around 2 to 3 hours until it rises. The time for the dough to rise will depend on your weather conditions.

When the dough rises, take it out from the bowl and again knead it into smooth with a clean finish and then place it on a flour dusted countertop and gently with your hands and fingertips, spread it into an inch thick circular shape..
once the circle is made, cut it into half and then cut each half into five triangular pieces.

From those triangular pieces, take each piece and then knead it again to form a round and smooth and neat ball.
Again, with your hands or using a wide flat spatula, press each ball into half an inch thick circles and using any smaller object, press in the centre to make the hole of the doughnut.

After making the doughnut shapes, again leave it to rest until it rises and doubles in size..

After it has doubled in size, deep fry in oil of your choice on a very low flame until it turns golden on both sides and cooks through..

Once they are ready, transfer onto a plate and let them cool down a bit while we prepare the glazing to dip these in.

To prepare the glazing, melt 4 tablespoons of butter and add it into a small bowl.. into the melted butter, add some sugar to taste and a tablespoon of milk.. with this the glazing is ready and the doughnuts can be dipped !!

After dipping in the glazing or rolling the doughnuts in cinnamon and sugar mixture, they are ready to be served..
