Cooked rice – 1 cup
Bread – 2 slices
Egg – 1
Grateful coconut – 1 handful
Cumin seeds – ½ tsp
Cardamom powder – as per taste
Brown sugar / normal sugar – 3 tbsp or as per taste
Rice Flour – 2 tbsp
Salt – 2 pinches
Oil – to fry
Hi everyone, today I am here with a sweet snack recipe using leftover bread and rice..
To prepare the easy batter, add a cup of cooked rice, two slices of bread, an egg, a handful of grated coconut, half a teaspoon of cumin seeds, some cardamom powder as per your taste and three tablespoons of brown sugar or normal sugar and blend to form a lump free and smooth paste. Add very little water to blend.
You can choose any type of cooked rice and/or any type of bread for this recipe and if you wish to replace sugar with jaggery, you can melt the jaggery in very little water and add it to the mixer grinder jar after it cools down..
Once the paste is ready, add 2 tablespoons of rice flour or Rava along with two pinches of salt and blend again well..
With this, the batter is completely ready to be fried into the snack.
For that, heat some oil in a pan and then reduce the flame to medium and pour the batter in the oil using a spoon to make small circles as you can see in the video.
You need not add a lot of oil as I did for the first batch, you can fry this in very little oil, and it won’t make much difference..
When the bottom side is done, carefully flip it and cook the top as well.
When they turn golden from both the sides, transfer to a serving plate and enjoy..!!
