ചോറ് കൊണ്ട് നല്ല എളുപ്പത്തിൽ കുഴലപ്പം/kuzhalappam Episode :835

Description :

Ingredients:
Rice flour (Roasted or unroasted) – 1 cup
Cooked rice – 3/4 cup
Grated coconut – 2 tbsp
Garlic – 2 big cloves or 4 small
Shallots – 2 small or 1 big (I am using a small piece of onion)
Cumin seeds – ½ tsp
Black sesame seeds – ½ tbsp Salt
Oil – For deep frying

Method:

Crush grated coconut, shallots, garlic and cumin seeds in a mixie without adding water.
Add rice flour and cooked rice to the ground mixture and whip again.

Transfer it to a wide bowl.
Add salt and black sesame seeds and make a smooth dough out of it.
Let it rest for 15-20 minutes.

Pinch small balls out of the dough and make it to a smooth ball by rolling between your palms.

Spread a plastic wrap on the counter / use banana leaves.
Place the ball on the it and flatten the dough to a disc by gently applying pressure with your palm.
Cover it with another layer of plastic wrap and roll it out to a thin disc using a rolling pin.
The thinner, the better.
Remove the top layer of plastic wrap.

Press a round lid on to the flattened disc to make a perfect circle by cutting out the uneven edges.

Dust a wooden rod or rolling pin with rice flour.
Wrap the rolled out discs tightly around the rod.
Gently press the edges together to form a small curl.
Slide it off the rod and set aside.
Repeat these steps with the rest of the dough.

Heat oil in a wok and slide in the rolled discs into the oil.
Deep fry in batches till golden brown.
