Potato – 3 large
Gram flour – 1 ½ cup
Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
Garam masala – ½ tsp
Asafoetida powder – ¼ tsp
Chilly powder – 1 tsp
Chilly flakes – as per taste
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Salt – as per taste
Water
Ajwain
Coriander leaves
Hot oil – 2 tbsp
Oil – to fry
Hi everyone, today I am here with an easy evening snack recipe which you can easily make it home with easily available ingredients..
First, wash three large potatoes, peel them and slice them into thin circles using a slice or very carefully using a knife..
make sure that each slice of the potato is really thin and even.
Once the potatoes are sliced, wash them in cold water for around 5 to 6 times or until the water runs clear of all the starch..
The more starch you get out of the potato slices, the crispier your snack will be.
Once the potatoes are washed, leave it to rest while we prepare the batter to dip the slices in.
To prepare the batter, into a large mixing bowl, add 1 ½ cup of gram flour and season the flour with a quarter teaspoon of turmeric powder, a quarter teaspoon of asafoetida powder, half a teaspoon of garam masala powder, a teaspoon of chilli powder, some chilli flakes to taste, some salt to taste, and a teaspoon of coriander powder.
After adding all the seasoning, add enough water and mix it into a Dosa batter like consistency and then add finely chopped coriander leaves and some ajwain to taste..
Next, add 2 tablespoons of very hot oil to the batter and mix it really well with the spoon and incorporate all the oil into the batter.. The oil should not remain separate.
Once the batter is ready, lay the potato slices on a piece of cloth or a kitchen towel and wipe off all the excess water from the potato slices using the cloth or th5 paper towel.
Once all the slices are dry, dip them one by one in the prepared batter and deep fry them in hot oil until golden on both sides..
Once golden on both sides, remove it from the oil to a serving plate and enjoy..!!
