ആരോഗ്യ പുട്ട് /സ്വാദേറും ഗോതമ്പ് കാരറ്റ് പുട്ട്/Healthy Carrot Wheat Puttu

Ingredients:
Wheat Flour
Carrot
Grated coconut
Salt
Shallots, Cumin seeds (optional)

Steps:
Add wheat flour, chopped carrot and salt to the mixer jar.
Pulse the mixer a few times and check the consistency of the flour.
If it is too wet, add more wheat flour and pulse again.
Transfer the flour to a bowl. Break the lumps, if any.
When you make a ball with the wet flour, it should hold its shape and should crumble back when pressed further. That’s the required consistency.
Add chopped shallots and cumin seeds and mix well.

Take the puttu maker and add some coconut with a spoon. Can add a little grated carrot if you like.
Then add 2-3 spoons of prepared flour followed by a layer of coconut.
Repeat the same steps until the puttu maker is loosely full.

Take 2 cups of water in a pressure cooker and cover it. Don’t use the whistle.
Place the puttu maker on the vent pipe at the top of the cooker and steam it on high flame.
When the steam starts coming out of the puttu maker, don’t turn off fire immediately. Wait for another 3-4 minutes for the puttu to get cooked completely.
Turn off the fire and transfer the puttu to a plate.
Carrot wheat puttu is ready.
