  • We, south indians dont add dal with rice.  Only rice is used for curd rice.

  • I live in Bangalore but never use moong daal. It becomes KHICHDI. It can never be curd rice. Sorry but I think Khichdi and not south indian recipe!

  • Hi aunty, your recipes are always amazing and innovative! But this particular recipe was a bit of a disappointment. Mosaranna is a dish very close to the South Indian's heart and is a bit different from the way you have shown.
There is no dal in mosaranna, its only rice which is cooked well, but not a paste like you showed. It should have some texture, but soft. Authentic mosaranna does not have carrrots/ cucumbers, but is still ok to add.

  • Brown lentil would have a different taste I think. Split moong has a very mild taste compared to brown lentil. Split red (orange) lentil may work but I think finding split moong would be best.

  • Thank you so much for your great recipes. I recently started using them and they all turn out so good. Yogurt rice looks delicious! I love all kinds of dal. I would love to see more recipes for different kinds of dal (hara chana, masoor, split chana, etc.) Thank you again for sharing your recipes.

  • Hi I love your videos very much. Tried a few of them and watch every single one. But this one is little odd. Curd rice is made similar way but you don't mush up the dal and rice like you did. Donno looks like baby food. Try the same recipe with normal soft cooked rice and dal. When you eat it should feel like you are eating rice and dal and not a paste. Just a suggestion 🙂

  • Hmmm……i love rice very much but its great to know there are different ways to prepare the rice,…..hmm,…the moong dal looks like yellow lentils, is it possible to use brown lentils instead on not having the moong dal? Gonna check an indian grocer via the internet, someone said its just as easy purchased as in person,…thumbs up my dear Manjula ji and greetings from the central plateau!! =D
