Ingredients:
2 medium boiled sweet potatoes
2 medium boiled yams
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon ginger juice
1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
1/2 teaspoon black salt
1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper (adjust to taste)
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon roasted ground cumin seed

For Garnishing:
1 minced green chili (adjust to taste)
2 tablespoon minced cilantro

  • Hi Eddie, me being italian and making risotto all the time I would recommend Yams more (the orange ones… however you call them…) but we usually use white regular potates so they dont mash all up. I Hope it helps.

  • This reminds me of a way of cooking sweet potatoes I picked up from street sellers in Delhi. The main difference is that the potatoes were cooked slowly over wood embers, giving a delicious smoky taste. To the pieces of potato were added lime juice, garam masala, chilli powder and black salt. Not as sophisticated as this recipe (which I must try!) but very tasty. I love the idea of adding ginger juice to lemon juice.

  • You can buy black salt in any indian grocery store it looks kinf of pink but if you dont have it just do without.
