Ingredients:
• 1 cup washed moong dal
• 3/4 cup fine sugar
• 1/4 cup ghee clarified butter
• 2 tablespoons crushed almonds
• 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder, elaichi
Instructions:
-Roast moong dal in a heavy-bottom frying pan over medium-low heat until light brown and aromatic, stirring constantly for about 8 minutes. Ensure cooking on low heat for proper toasting.
-Remove from heat, transfer to a plate, and let cool to room temperature.
-Once cooled, grind dal to a fine powder.
-In a bowl, mix roasted dal powder, sugar, cardamom powder, and crushed almonds until well combined.
-Warm ghee and pour over the dal mixture, mixing well. If laddu doesn’t hold shape, add 1 tablespoon warm melted ghee and mix.
-Shape mixture into balls (laddus). Store in an airtight container; laddus will stay good for about two weeks.
