Vazhaippo – milagu kulambu – gravy recipe for rice
Ingredients:
Vazhhaippo – 100 grms
Small onions – 10
Tomatoes – 2 chopped
Red chilli powder – ¼ cup
Turmeric powder – 1/ 4 tsp
Salt – to taste
Thuar dhal – ½ cup
Red gram dhal – ¼ tsp
Dry roast and grind:
Dhaniya – 1 tsp
Black gram dhal – ½ tsp
Pepper – ½ tsp
Grated fresh coconut – ¼ cup
For seasoning:
Sesame oil, mustard, urad dhal, black gram,asafoetida,curry leaves, garlic-2 flakes
Method:
1. Pressure coo dhal with fenugreek tomatoes and turmueric powder in enough water.
2.Dry roast with mentioned ingredients and grind to paste.
3. Separate vazhaipoo and then chop. Keep in enough water to which butter milk is added.
4.Heat oil, add seasoning, fry garlic, onions, tomatoes adn then vazhaipoo.
5. Add it to cooked dhal, ground paste, salt and boil with enough water.
