Suji Appam (Sweet)
INGREDIENTS
For Dough:
Maida – 1 1/4 Cup
Salt – A pinch
Water – To Knead
For Stuffing:
Rawa – 1 Cup
Sugar – 1 1/4 Cup
Water – 2 1/2 Cup
Finely Cut Fried Cashewnuts – Little
Ghee – 2 Tblsps
Oil – For Deep Frying
METHOD
1. Add enough water to maida to which a pinch of salt is added. Knead to form a smooth and pliable dough, Keep closed.
2. Heat little ghee. Fry finely cut cashews, take out, add rawa and continue to roast for a minute.
3. Pour 2 1/2 to 3 cups of boiling hot water. Mix well and cook.
4. Add sugar and stir till soft and ball like consistency.
5. Mix cardamom powder, cashews and make a lemon sized balls.
6. Prepare small balls from maida dough.
7. Flatten it, keep a rawa ball, close from outer edges, flatten, roll out to thick circle.
8. Deep fry in hot oil. Serve hot or cold.
