Learn how to make Rava Pongal at home from popular home chef Mallika Badrinath!
Ingredients:
Rawa (semolina) – 1 cup
Green gram dhal cooked – ¼ cup
Water – 4 ½ cups
Salt – as required
Coarsely crushed pepper cumin – 1 tsp
Curry leaves – 1 spring
Ginger – 1 inch piece grated
Oil, ghee – as required
Asafoetida – little
Fried cashewnuts – as desired
Method:
1. Add measured water to cooked dhal.
2. Add salt, and when it starts boiling add raosted wara by
sprinkling.
3.Close with lid, cook in reduced flame.
4. Add pepper cumin powder, grated ginger.
5. Heat oil & ghee, fry cashewnuts, add curry leaves, asafoetida
and pour to the pongal.
