Rawa Khichadi
INGREDIENTS
Rawa – 1 Cup
Finely Cut Onions – 1/2 Cup
Green Peas – 50 Gms
Roasted Cashews – 25 Gms (Optional)
Finely Cut Tomatoes – 100 Gms
Green Chillies – 3 (Sliced Lengthwise)
Turmeric Powder – 1/2 Tsp
Salt – To Taste
Water – 3 Cups
Lemon – 1
Coriander Leaves – Little
Oil – 2 1/2 Tblsps
Mustard Seeds,
Urad Dhal (Black Gram Dhal),
Bengal Gram Dhal
METHOD
1. Heat oil, add seasonings and then green chillies followed by onions.
2. Saute for 1 or 2 minutes.
3. Add tomatoes, green peas; mix well and saute for another two minutes.
4. Mix rawa and turmeric powder.
5. Pour boiling hot water, salt and mix well and close with a lid.
6. Reduce flame and cook till moisture gets absorbed.
7. Squeeze lemon juice and garnish with roasted cashews, coriander leaves. Serve hot with coconut chutney or thokku.
