PATTANAM PAKODA:
Ingredients:
Rice Flour – 1 cup
Bengal Gram flour – 1 cup
Ghee – 6 tea spoons
Cooking soda – ¼ tsp
Finely cut curry leaves – little
Coarsely crushed leaves – ¼ cup
Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
Salt – 1 tsp
Ginger, green chillies paste – 2 tsp
Oil – For deep frying
Method:
Crush peanuts using a rolling pin.
Sift and mix rice flour, gram flour together in a bowl.
Rub ghee with soda until frothy.
Mix with flour and all the other ingredients.
Sprinkle very little water and prepare medium sized balls. Deep fry in hot oil until crisp and golden in colour.

I tried doing this. but the balls of flour created breaks into powder when put in oil. Not sure what is wrong?
