Pal Paniyaram – Sweet (Payasam)

INGREDIENTS
For Paniyaram:
Black Gram (Dehusked) – 1/2 Cup (Ulundhu)
Salt – 1/4 Tsp
Oil – For Deep Frying

For Payasam:
Thick Milk – 3 Cups
Sugar – 1/4 Cup
Badam Beverage Powder – 1 1/2 Tblsp
Saffron – 2 Pinches
Roasted Cashewnuts – 10
Kismis – 10

METHOD
1. Soak dhal in enough water for 1 hour.
2. Grind to smooth, frothy paste. Add very little salt at the end.
3. Deep fry as small bondas.
4. Heat milk separately in another vessel.
5. Add sugar and badam powder to the thickened boiled milk.
6. Add soaked saffron, deep fried hot paniyaram and nuts.
