INGREDIENTS
Bengal Gram Flour (Besan) – 1 Cup
Rice Flour – 1 Tblsp
Ajwain Flakes – Little
Ghee – 1 Tsp
Salt – Little
Oil – For Deep Frying
METHOD
1. Sift the flour varieties together.
2. Add salt and rubbed Ajwain flakes, 1 Tsp of butter together.
3. Blend with finger tips and add water to form a thick dough.
4. Squeeze through a Sev press directly to hot oil.
5. Deep fry until crisp.

Today I have prepared Om Podi after seeing your video. The changes I made were adding chilli powder, asafoetida and some molten butter before preparing the dough. After frying about three batches, the oil started frothing, preventing me from seeing the extent of frying in the pan. I managed to finish frying the whole lot. The taste was good. But, frothing oil spoiled the fun of preparation. Can you tell me what could be the reason for frothing of oil? Would it be because of any changes I made? I would be greatly obliged if you can clarify.
