Quick Channa Masala (OIL FREE)
INGREDIENTS
White Channa (Whole Bengal Gram) — 1 Cup
Finely Cut Onion — 1/2 Cup
Chopped Tomatoes — 3/4 Cup
Salt — To Taste
Sugar/Jaggery — 1 Teaspoon
Little Tamarind Extract
Dry Mango Powder — 1 Teaspoon
Dhania Powder — 1 Tablespoon
Jeera Powder — 1& 1/2 Teaspoon
Ginger-Garlic Paste – 1 Teaspoon
Garam Masala Powder — 1/2 Teaspoon
Channa Masala Powder — Optional
Chopped Coriander Leaves — 1 Tablespoon
METHOD
1. Soak Channa Overnight.
2. Pressure cook for seven whistles in just enough water.
3. Open the lid when pressure subsides.
4. Add Onions, Tomatoes, Salt, Tamarind, Sugar and all the powder.
5. Pressure cook again for two whistles.
6. Mash lightly if water stands separately.
7. Boil once. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with Bhatura/ Aloo Tikki/ along with bread.
