Malai Kofta Curry
INGREDIENTS
Onions – 250 gms
Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 1/2 Tsps
Tomato Puree – 1/2 Cup
Cinnamon – 2 Pieces
Cloves – 3
Bay Leaf – 1
Sugar – 1/2 tsp
Salt – To Taste
Red Chilli Powder – 1 Tsp
Dhania Powder – 2 Tsps
Garam Masala Powder – 1/2 Tsp
Grind To Paste:
Cashewnuts – 10 pieces
Poppy Seeds – 2 Tsps
For Garnishing:
Fresh Cream
For Koftas:
Finely cut vegetables – Carrot, Potatoes, Beans and Fresh Peas
Corn Flour – 2 Tblsps
Bread Crumbs – 2 Tblsps
METHOD
1. Steam cook finely cut vegetables, add salt, chilli powder, corn flour, bread crumbs and prepare lemon sized balls.
2. Flatten lightly and deep fry until golden. Keep aside.
3. Heat oil in a kadai. Add garam masala, spices and then sliced onions.
4. Add ginger-garlic paste and saute until golden.
5. Mix tomato puree, all the powders and pour enough water.
6. Boil for few minutes, add ground paste.
7. Cook until required consistency.
8. Arrange koftas in a serving platter.
9. Pour hot gravy on top.
10. Top with fresh cream and serve.

For malai kofta, the kofta has to be made of malai and potato and fried. There is no malai in the kofta here. When you make koftas using vegetable mixture, it is veg kofta. Would appreciate if you could provide more authentic recipe.
