INGREDIENTS
Toor Dhal – 1 ½ Tblsp
Coriander Leaves – Little
Garlic – 3
Dhal Rasam Powder – ¾ Tsp
Asafoetida Powder – Little
Salt – To Taste
Jaggery – Little for Taste
Tamarind Extract – 1 Small Cup
Tomato – 1
Turmeric Powder – ¼ Tsp
Curry Leaves,
Oil/Ghee – 1 Tsp (for tampering)
Mustard Seeds – ¼ Tsp
Urad Dhal – ½ Tsp
METHOD
1. Pressure cook dhal in enough water along with tomato and turmeric powder.
2. After opening the lid, remove the skin from the cooked tomato and mash it lightly.
3. Add Tamarind extract, 2 cups of water, salt, jaggery, garlic, rasam powder and boil for few minutes.
4. Add seasoning ingredients to hot ghee/oil and pour on top of the rasam.
5. Add curry leaves, coriander leaves.
