INGREDIENTS
Rajma Beans – ¼ Cup
Black Urad (Black Gram) – ½ Cup
Finely Cut Onion – ¼ Cup
Sliced Tomatoes – ½ Cup
Ginger & Green Chilli – 1 or 2 pieces
Turmeric Powder – ¼ Tsp
Cumin Seeds – ½ Tsp
Salt – To Taste
Dhania Powder – 1 ½ Tsp
Red Chillies Powder – ½ Tsp
Garam Masala Powder – ½ Tsp
Oil – 1 Tblspn
Butter – 1 Tblsp
Fresh Cream – 1 Tblsp
METHOD
1. Wash and soak Rajma Beans over night in enough water.
2. Pressure cook in the same soaked water for 7 whistles.
3. Soak Black Urad 1 hour before cooking.
4. Open the lid, add Urad, sliced ginger, cut green chilli, turmeric powder and pressure cook for another 3 whistles.
5. Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and then onions.
6. Fry until transparent. Add tomatoes. Cook for 1 or 2 minutes.
7. Mix Dhaniya powder, Red Chillies Powder, Garam Masala Powder in that oil itself and pour over dhal.
8. Add salt, boil for few minutes. Mash lightly using dhal masher.
9. Add butter at the end. Serve hot topped with fresh cream.
