Aval Uppama – Lemon
INGREDIENTS
Rice Flakes – 1 Cup
Water – To Soak
Turmeric Powder – 1/2 Tsp
Salt – As Required
Cooked Green Peas – 1/2 Cup
Finely Cut Onions – 1/2 Cup
Green Chillies – 2
Lemon – 1

For Tempering:
Mustard Seeds – 1/2 Tsp
Urad Dhal (Black Gram Dehusked) – 1 tsp
Bengal Gram Dhal – 1 1/2 Tsps
Curry Leaves – Few

METHOD
1. Take water in a large bowl and rinse rice flakes (Aval) in that water. Squeeze and keep separately. If necessary repeat the process to remove mud. If the rice flakes is thick, soak it for few hours with just enough water.
2. Heat oil in a broad fry pan, add seasoning ingredients and then curry leaves, green chillies and onion.
3. Fry until onion turns translucent, add cooked green peas, soaked aval, turmeric powder, salt.
4. Mix gently upside down using a flat laddle.
5. Squeeze lemon and serve with green peas sundal and any pickle.
