Traditionally in this fruit cake, the dry fruits and nuts are soaked for a month in alcohol. However for general purposes (plum cake without alcohol ) soaking them in grape juice would be just fine. If you don’t have the time to allow the dry fruits to soak, them boil them in juice for 6-8 mins and allow it to cook before incorporating into the cake batter.
