Besan ladoos are very popular in India. There are different ladoos prepared in India like rava ladoo, rava coconut ladoo, ragi ladoo, Til ladoo, aliwache ladoo, Khajur ladoo etc. Besan ladoos are generally prepared during festival season. These are very healthy and nutritious. Besides they are pretty easy to make too. The tricky part is to roast the besan or gram flour. Once you get it right, you will be besan ladoo expert. Let’s learn to prepare Besan ladoo
Ingredients:
• 1/4 cup + 2-3 tbsp Ghee
• 1 1/2 cups Besan / Gram flour
• Cardamom powder
• Dry fruits (Of your choice)
• 3/4 cup Powdered sugar
• Raisins for garnishing
Method:
• In a pan heat up ghee. Add gram flour.
• The gram flour should have course texture. You can use
regular gram flour too.
• Roast the flour in low heat. Stir continuously or besan may
stick to the pan and may burn.
• Roast the besan until it turns reddish in color or smells well
roasted.
• If you don’t want to use clarified butter, you can use dalda
also.
• Roast the besan for almost 10 minutes. It should be roasted
properly and should not burn.
• When it has got nice reddish color, turn off the heat.
• Add cardamom powder and dry fruits. Mix well.
• Keep aside to cool it down. It should be lukewarm and not
totally cool.
• Add powdered sugar and mix well with the besan.
• Once the sugar is mixed well roll it into ladoo. Garnish with
raisin and roll again.
• Besan ladoo are ready.
• You can prepare 12 medium size ladoo from 1 1/2 cup besan.
