Bread gulabjam is an instant and easy recipe. These gulabjam turn out perfectly like the ones those we buy from a mithai shop. They look nice and taste just yumm!! We don’t need khoya or milk powder or maida as we are using bread. These are dry gulabjam. They get nice coating of sugar and are perfectly dry. It turns out nice, juicy inside but at the same time, dry outside. With Gauri Ganapati festival round the corner, you must be looking for some easy and instant sweet recipe. This is one such recipe. We already have seen different gulabjam recipes. This is yet another delicious addition to the list. You can try this recipe at home and drop a comment for me. Ingredients:
• 1 cup Sugar
• Few Saffron strands
• 1/2 cup Water
• 6 English oven bread slices
• 2 tsp Ghee
• 1/4 cup Milk
• Oil for frying
• Sugar for coating
Method:
• Heat up a pan on medium heat and add sugar, saffron and water.
• Mix well and cook until sugar dissolves.
• When sugar dissolves, cook the mixture for another 3-4 minutes.
• Turn off the gas and check the consistency of sugar syrup.
• Take few drops in a dish and check.
• If the mixture is sticky, then the sugar syrup is ready. We don’t want single thread consistency. It
should be just sticky.
• Sugar syrup is ready.
• Cut off the edges of English oven bread slices and cut it into pieces.
• Blend the slices into crumbs in mixer and transfer it into a dish.
• Add ghee and mix well.
• Add a little milk at a time and knead soft dough.
• Take small portion from the dough and roll it into cylindrical shape.
• Heat up oil in a pan and drop gulabjam into it.
• Fry gulabjam well on low heat until it gets nice golden color from all sides.
• When gulabjam are fried well, take them out, drain excess oil and transfer them into hot sugar
syrup.
• Roll them well in sugar syrup and let them soak at least an hour.
• Take the gulabjam out on a tissue paper. Roll the gulabjam well from all sides in sugar so that it
sticks to gulabjam well from all sides.
• Bread gulabjam are ready.
• You can make around 10-12 gulabjam from the proportion we used.
• You can store the gulabjam at room temperature for about 3-4 days in freeze for about 8-10 days.
